Dr Ambuj Goyal joins the Magine Board

Magine (www.magine.com), the Stockholm-headquartered cloud-based TV service, today announces the appointment of Dr Ambuj Goyal to its board. Dr Goyal has an extensive background in leading technology driven businesses, having held a number of high profile roles within IBM over his 32-year career with the company.

As the General Manager of Information Management and Business Analytics, he drove the company to become a leader in the business analytics space, addressing the urgent requirements of international enterprises and governments for efficient ways to store, manage and extract value from information. Other roles include leading worldwide computer science research at IBM Watson, and leading research and development for all of IBM's systems and technology businesses.

Dr Goyal is an IEEE Fellow, as well as a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery

Kamal Bherwani, Chairman of Magine, comments: “Magine welcomes Dr Goyal to the board, and looks forward to benefitting from his deep experience and expertise in pioneering disruptive technology. As we prepare for further international roll-out and expansion, it is important for us to engage with broadcasters, advertisers and consumers as comprehensively as possible, and to ensure that we utilize technology and data in order to provide the best next-generation experience."

Dr Ambuj Goyal comments: "The television industry has remained fairly untouched by the cloud, social and mobile phenomena. Magine is completely transforming the way television is delivered by leveraging cloud economics, and is consumed in the world of instant gratification by leveraging social, mobile and real-time analytics capabilities. The television experience will become as integral to our daily lives as the music experience has become, not tied to a voice box or a video box. It is an honour to be asked to help guide such a leadership team".
