​Tingstad gets new, modern ERP platform

Tingstad, one of Norway's largest specialists in fastening and sealing solutions, has signed an agreement with Merit to upgrade to Infor M3 13.4. 

Starting in the year 2017, the company will run a new and modern solution, without major modifications but with improved processes, especially in purchasing and forecasting, but also with new interfaces in Autostore and Crane Storage. The upgrade gives Tingstad more innovative power and will enhance competitiveness in relation to customers and suppliers in the value chain.

Tingstad's vision is to be the customer's natural first choice as a partner in fastening and sealing solutions. Effective and predictable logistics in addition to continuous quality control, product development and testing in the lab is central. The company has 120 employees distributed in offices in Trondheim, Ålesund, Bergen, Stavanger, Sandefjord, Oslo as well as the sister company Nordic Fastening Group in Sweden, Poland and Finland.

Tingstad started as a ship trading company in 1884. To be able to cope with that industry 130 years ago, one had to think clearly and far ahead. Boats were gone months at a time and they would need anything from extra sail to soap. It was crucial to have total control over what was in the warehouse, where it was and how long it took to replenish the inventory.

The world has changed a lot since then but the need to have complete control over the warehouse, ensuring that customers have what they need when they need it, remains central to the business.

Tingstad has long experience with the use of Movex 12.5 RPG combined with Merit Portal and is now implementing Infor M3 13.4 together with Merit.

Central processes are supply solutions to the industry with handheld terminals. Tingstad began warehouse automation in the 90's and has since used state-of-the-art technology with robotic systems that are now integrated with M3 using H5WebMashup client, MEC and Merit Portal.
