Merit donates a water pump for every completed project

Everyone needs water to live, a need that we in Europe usually take for granted. Clean water is normally not an issue in Europe, however this is not the case around the world. Merit has decided to make our contribution. We are donating UNICEF water pumps to the areas in need, linked to our deliveries.

Today there are 387 million people all around the world that lack water access and around 3.2 millions dies each year from water, sanitation or hygiene-related causes. If you compare the amount of people in a jumbo jet with children’s death caused of lack of access to clean water and sanitation, it equals a jumbo jet crashing every fourth hour.

Merit has decided to make our contribution, regarding clean water. We are donating UNICEF water pumps to the areas in need, linked to our project deliveries. This regardless if we are in an upgrading project, making improvements, installing new business solutions or Merit Portal. Large or small, short or long term projects it all provides contribution.

When we introduce a project we deliver a kit containing a SodaStream and Merit water glasses. When the project is finalized, we will donate a UNICEF water pump and present a diploma from UNICEF to our clients, confirming that Merit has donated a pump, a pump to someone who really needs it. The gift is a hand pump with affordable and available spare parts, which both children and adults can use. UNICEF places the water pump as close to the village school as possible. Long way to the water source is something that often affects girls ability to attend school. Water is essential for life, health, food, education and equal rights.
