Media invitation: Press preview of the exhibition The Dangerous Prize

On Thursday 9 June the exhibition The Dangerous Prize will open at the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo. The exhibition tells the story of the German journalist and whistleblower Carl von Ossietzky who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 1935 in 1936. The award remains one of the most controversial in the history of the prize.

Staged in a 1930’s scenography, the exhibition tells the story about Ossietzky’s life and destiny, and about the controversies surrounding the award. Original documents from the Carl von Ossietzky-University in Oldenburg and the Norwegian Nobel Institute are displayed, among them the Nobel medal and diploma Ossietzky never received.

On Wednesday 8. Jun from 13.00 - 15.00, the exhibition will be shown to the press. Historian Alexandra Otten from the Ossietzky University will be available for interviews. Executive director Liv Tørres and Director of Exhibitions Liv Astrid Sverdrup will be available for interviews upon request.

Please contact Ingvill Bryn Rambøl ibr@nobelpeacecenter.org for appointment.
