Nobis Hotel partners up with the sailing boats of the future

This year’s ÅF Offshore Race takes off in central Stockholm and among the participants in the line-up are trimarans Samsung Challenge and new Race For Water, both new partners of Nobis Hotel.

At the 2011 edition of the ÅF Offshore Race, the trimarans challenge the previous record on the new course, which will head off from downtown Stockholm for the very first time. 60-ft trimaran Samsung Challenge is joined in the ÅF Offshore Race by new MOD70 trimaran Race For Water from France.

- We follow the trimarans Samsung Challenge and Race For Water with excitement in this race, while we are evaluating how we can evolve our partnership in the future, says Marcus Josefsson, Hotel Manager at Nobis Hotel.


Whyshore, the event management agency responsible for Samsung Challange, aims to include Stockholm as a stop-over in the future MOD70 European Tour which takes place for the first time in 2012, and to make it a regular stop every year thereafter. The new partnership of Nobis Hotel is intended to provide accommodation to both sailing crews and visitors and the restaurants and bars will be the watering hole during the race days.
The take-off for ÅF Offshore is 6 July at 11am. From 3 July until 6 July, Samsung Challenge and Race For Water lie side by side at the Visit Skärgården’s dock nr 18 at Strandvägen in Stockholm.

About Samsung Challenge
60-ft trimaran Samsung Challenge is Scandinavia’s fastest sailing boat and has a top speed of incredible 43,2 knots. The boat measures 18 x 18 meters, with a mast of appr. 30 meters and a weight of about 5000 kilos.
