​Viking Line extends the cooperation with op5 for enhanced IT monitoring on board the ships

Finnish shipping group Viking Line has extended the cooperation with op5 to improve control of the local IT environment on its ships. Under the agreement, op5 will provide a fully distributed management solution, integrating monitoring of all IT equipment on Viking Lines’ vessels with the group’s central monitoring centre ashore.

Local instances of op5’s award winning monitoring solution, op5 Monitor, will be used to manage datacentres, switches, networking equipment and cash registers on each of Viking Line’s seven vessels. op5 Monitor’s integrated logserver functionality will further improve the information available and local control of each system. To reach synergies and optimize the IT operations, monitoring data from the ships and all offices around the Baltic Sea will be consolidated in a unified view at Viking Line’s central data centres.

Viking Line’s upgraded monitoring solution will be in full operation during spring 2015.
