RES appoints Steven Hughes as Global Asset Management Director

RES has announced the appointment of Steven Hughes as Global Asset Management Director. The new position has been created to accelerate growth in this area of the business across a range of low carbon technologies.

Having been with RES since 2001, Steven has worked across different parts of the business from wind turbine technology assessment and contract management, through to procurement and wind energy deployment. For the past few years, Steven has focused on growing the UK and Ireland asset management business as new institutional investors entered the market. His new role will encompass all global asset management activity, where over100 people manage more than 2GW of plant for a range of owners in six countries. In particular, Steven will be focusing on three key areas:

  • Customers – sharing RES 30 years’ worth of knowledge in renewables to support customers as they grow their global portfolios.
  • Innovation – accelerating the development and delivery of new services and products to meet emerging customer demands.
  • Talent – developing a multi-skilled workforce to ensure a consistently high quality asset management worldwide.

Donald Joyce, Chief Financial Officer at RES commented on the appointment:

Steven brings a wealth of experience to this role, having been the Director of Generation and Asset Management in the UK and Ireland since 2010. I am confident he will bring relevant knowledge and expertise to all areas of RES’ asset management portfolio and drive the growth of the company.
