RxEye Appoints New CEO and Continues to Drive Growth Strategy

Dr. John Grant is appointed new CEO and Kevin Dean and Paul Jones strengthen the board of directors as strategic steps in line with the company’s upcoming global expansion.

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN -- Feb 2, 2015 - RxEye AB, the innovative provider of infrastructure for remote diagnostics of medical images, today announced that John Grant has been named chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Grant has over 20 years experience in healthcare ICT and previously served as director in the Healthcare Practice in Cisco's Strategic Consulting Group. Throughout his career he has driven ICT-enbabled healthcare innovation and has been responsible for clinical research applications, hospital information systems and eHealth projects in Europe, Africa, China, Asia-Pacific and Australia.

Kevin Dean, former managing director of Cisco’s Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG) and Paul Jones, former director and leader of Life Sciences Health & Care at Cisco, both recently joined RxEye’s board of directors. RxEye’s solutions utilize ICT networks, such as those from Cisco, to transform diagnostic imaging services and to support virtual teaming.

"Grant is the perfect chief executive officer to lead RxEye," said Hedvig Andersén, chairman of the board, RxEye and investment manager at Industrifonden, funding partner of RxEye. "Together with Dean and Jones on RxEye’s board of directors the company has acquired a brilliant troika. All three have a deep international experience and a long-standing know-how from fast growing companies with groundbreaking ideas. Grant is a talented leader and we all feel very confident that he will take RxEye to the next level and execute our aggressive growth plans."

RxEye’s web-based platform was released in early 2014 and has since been adopted by hospitals and healthcare networks in France and the Nordic region among others. The aim to rapidly expand the company into new markets is a result of the exponential growth in number of diagnosis transactions made using the system.

"I am honoured to be asked to lead this Swedish startup -- a company I have followed closely since its inception -- at such an important time in its international expansion," said Grant. "RxEye product development has truly risen to the challenge this year and that has enabled the company to make incredible progress in 2014, including sharpening our focus on strategic partnerships to provide the best solution for distance reading within medical imaging. The management team and I are committed to our strategy and are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for RxEye."

Jan Furuvald, former interim chief executive officer, will stay with the company during a transitional period.
