Capture your wedding from ‘A Bride’s Eye View ’

Milliner Rosie Olivia and Sony launch world’s first collection of wedding veils complete with wearable camera technology

Sony has teamed up with royal milliner, Rosie Olivia, to unveil her first ‘wearable technology wedding veils collection’. Designed to capture a unique view of matrimony, from the bride’s eyeline. The futuristic veils feature an embedded Sony 4K Action Cam, the FDR-X1000V.

Rosie Olivia, who has designed hats for high profile celebrities and members of the Royal family, seeks to help any bride capture every wonderful memory created on their big day so they can be enjoyed in years to come. Wearable technology has been introduced to Rosie’s collection as she develops two truly distinctive and intricate handcrafted veils, complete with all the trimmings. The bridal accessory has been engineered to prevent couples missing out on the video memories of their special day and provide unique footage that can be edited into their wedding video. Recent research from Sony found that over a third of married Brits regret not having a wedding video.

Rosie trialled the ‘Bride’s Eye View’ collection at a ceremony in North West London. The first piece is a stunning crown, complete with tiny crystals fit for any princess on her wedding day and the second piece of headwear is simpler with an understated design which hides the lightweight Sony Action Cam in a subtle and elegant way. Aesthetics are paramount to the design and have not been compromised in these creations.

Commenting on the exciting project, Rosie says: “Too many of my friends have complained about their lack of wedding videography. I’m getting married soon and wanted to make sure I cover all angles and eventualities. The Bride’s Eye View collection will mean the most important vows are captured forever.”

“The first ‘Bride’s Eye View’ piece has been created by incorporating a 4K Action Cam into bridal headwear. In making the veil into wearable tech, I hope my brides will look amazing while capturing every moment from her intimate point of view. Sony has helped me make it possible to guarantee that treasured memories will live on forever.”

“With my own wedding on the way, my essentials will be something borrowed, something blue and the chance to capture your wedding with a brides eye view’”

Frederik Lange, Head of Digital Imaging at Sony UK and Ireland comments, “It is exciting to see Sony’s innovation incorporated into such a design – our digital imaging products are really designed to capture both the everyday and special occasions. We don’t want anyone to miss a moment and especially not on their wedding day. Sony’s 4K ActionCam provides a lightweight but high quality offering and we look forward to seeing more designs from Rosie Olivia in the future.”

Rosie incorporated the Sony 4K ActionCam X1000V into two of her recent designs. The FDR-X1000V is Sony’s newest addition to the Action Cam range offering 4K picture quality and technology, equal to that of current Hollywood feature films, due to Sony’s own professional grade codec XAVC S format.

The FDR-X1000V features a cutting-edge sensor that packs in more pixels for low-noise shooting in dark settings, while the 170° ultra-wide ZEISS Tessar® lens allows panoramic viewing to capture expansive landscapes and dynamic aerial images. The Action Cam also features SteadyShot image stabilisation and built-in stereo mic and wind noise reduction.
