Students worldwide to unleash ideas for increasing the number of young entrepreneurs

University students worldwide are invited to help increasing the number of young entrepreneurs, in a competition launched today by the Global Entrepreneurship Week and Studentcompetitions.com.  The Global Entrepreneurship Challenge is a competition where students are challenged to come up with new ideas on how to increase the number and impact of young entrepreneurs in their country

The students should describe their ideas in 300 words or less, for a chance to win a trip to Sweden and to present their idea at the entrepreneurship conference Startup Day, taking place in Stockholm in spring 2011. The finalists will determined by a public vote and an expert jury consisting of members from the organizers will select the winning contribution. The winner will be presented at Goodmorning 2020, Scandinavia’s largest entrepreneurship event, taking place in Stockholm on November 17 during the Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Announcing the launch of the Global Entrepreneurship Challenge, Gustav Borgefalk, co-founder of Studentcompetitions.com said: “Students have loads of great ideas but often little opportunity to make them heard. The Global Entrepreneurship Challenge is an invitation for students to give their view on what governments, companies or other actors should do to increase the number and impact of young entrepreneurs in the context of the country they live in.”

The Global Entrepreneurship Challenge is an official event of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, co-organized by the Kauffman Foundation and Enterprise UK. Last year, over seven million people from 88 countries including Brazil, the USA, Nigeria, China and Afghanistan took part in the second Global Entrepreneurship Week.

University students of any age, nationality, gender or discipline are invited to take part. Proposals are accepted until the deadline on November 15.

To enter the Global Entrepreneurship Challenge, students must sign in and post their contribution on www.globalentrepreneurshipchallenge.com . There will initially be a public vote from which ten finalists will be selected and then an expert jury will announce their decision at the Goodmorning 2020 conference, in Stockholm.
