Habitat coming to Sweden, set to visit Formex with laid-back lounge made of natural materials and earthy colors

In the Entrance Hall at Formex, household furnishings chain Habitat has put together a lounge created by interior designer and stylist Per Wennberg. The lounge is a place for visitors to take timeout away from all the impressions. It’s a place to reflect and chat.

The whole lounge, which has an area of 170 square meters, is enclosed by a drapery, a straining cloth that screens off the lounge and is also transparent and creates an airy atmosphere. The exhibition is dominated by natural materials a muted range of colors designed to promote a sense of calm and harmony. A blend of hard and soft materials has been used. The hard materials, the metals, represent concentration and energy; the soft materials, wood and textiles, represent expansion and growth. Pictures taken by photographer Lena Koller are also showcased in the exhibition.

"The idea is for the lounge to serve as an oasis, a place for chatting and sifting through all of the impressions. For that, you'd want a laid-back, relaxing and tranquil environment where you can lean back comfortably. Take a break, meet up with friends, or rest your tired feet after a day at the fair," says Per Wennberg.

"This is the first time we've invited a household furnishings store to design a lounge in the Entrance Hall. This is new for Formex. Visitors will now have even more to experience and even more inspiration when they come here," says Chice Lindgren, Event Manager, Formex.

Habitat was founded by Sir Terence Conran in the UK in 1964; it offers a wide selection of exciting contemporary furniture, textiles, lighting and accessories. Household furnishings chain Habitat is set to open its first store in Sweden on August 15. The 800 square meter store will be located in the PUB department store in Stockholm and will be managed by the company responsible for Swedish household furnishings store R.O.O.M.
