Apr 25, 2012 15:23 CEST The Vinordic Wine Challenge, Sweden’s only EU-certified wine competition, has selected this year’s best wines. Almost 700 wines competed in 37 classes, within ten different flavour types. Within each category, a gold, silver and bronze winner is then named. These are Sweden’s best-value wines.

Apr 25, 2012 14:00 CEST GastroNord, 24-27 April, will see the launch of the Chef of the Year restaurant. The menu at this temporary pop-up restaurant will be devised by the Chef of the Year Association, including contributions from Klas Lindberg, Tommy Myllymäki and Markus Aujalay, all winners of the Chef of the Year title.

Apr 23, 2012 12:24 CEST Next week sees the launch of the Vinordic School (25-27 April), which features a whole host of talks. Visitors can learn about the tasting and re-corking of the bottles of champagne found in a shipwreck in the Åland Archipelago. At the fair, there will also be wine tasting and glass testing with Gaja and Riedel, as well as beer tasting with brewmaster Garrett Oliver.
