Topping out ceremony for Elbterrassen in Geesthacht near Hamburg

A home with a river view: After the start of construction in September 2016, about 150 guests on 29 June 2017 celebrated the topping out ceremony for the new construction of the attractive residential complex directly on the river Elbe.

Work is proceeding as planned at the Elbterrassen construction site, so the topping out ceremony was celebrated on schedule. Olaf Schulze, mayor of the city of Geesthacht, and Olaf Dose, director of project management at ZÜBLIN, praised the very good cooperative working relationship between the local politicians, the specialty departments of the city administration and ZÜBLIN. The project marks the beginning of the further development of residential construction at Westhafen in Geesthacht.

When it is completed in the 3rd quarter of 2018, the residential development will offer 97 new apartments as well as space for parking distributed over 8 separate buildings on a total property size of nearly 1 ha. The contract value of the order amounts to about € 21 million.

ZÜBLIN – a cooperation between the Business Unit Turnkey Construction Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein and the project management team from Sub-Division North – is not only working on the construction but also handled the development to prepare the project for construction. Elbterrassen is located directly along the riverside promenade about 30 minutes from central Hamburg by car. Thanks to the location close to the water with no further waterfront development possible, every apartment will have a view of the Elbe.
