Jonas Abrahamsson appointed CEO of Swedavia

Jonas Abrahamsson has been appointed new President and CEO of Swedavia. At his admission, Jonas Abrahamsson will leave his current position as CEO at E.ON in Sweden and Nordics.

Swedavia's Board of Directors today appointed Jonas Abrahamsson, since 2010 CEO of E.ON Sweden, the new President and CEO. Swedavia operates and develops airports in Sweden with the mission to make Sweden more accessible, domestic and internationally.

Jonas Abrahamsson has an MBA from Lund University, and has worked within the E.ON Group for 25 years. Jonas Abrahamsson has an extensive leadership background and experience of managing large infrastructure investments in both a Swedish and an international environment.

­ Jonas has the right background and previous experience to lead Swedavia in a time of investment needs now facing the company in conjunction with increasing air traffic. He has in his previous work shown that he has a great ability to develop the organization and create efficiency and commitment within the company. Jonas’ experience from the energy industry will also be important in Swedavia's mission to reach the goal of zero tons of fossil fuel emissions in our own operations by 2020, says Åke Svensson, Chairman of the board at Swedavia.

Swedavia is also at the forefront of sustainability. Together with a strong customer focus and commercial development there is a strong potential to enhance the airport capacity in an increasingly competitive international market, says Jonas Abrahamsson.

Jonas Abrahamsson will take on his new role as President and CEO of Swedavia by January 2017. Until then Karl Wistrand will remain as acting CEO.
