Located about two hours from Tokyo along the TOBU Railway line is the Nikko / Kinugawa Onsen area, home to world cultural heritage “Shrines and Temples of Nikko” and famous as one of Kanto's leading hot spring resorts. This summer has seen the arrival of many attractions one after another, including the steam locomotive "Taiju" and the "Nantai" pleasure boat, taking guests on trips around nature filled Lake Chuzenji. The area will also see the arrival of the autumn season from late September to late November, painting the area with vivid orange, red, and yellow leaves. Starting in August 2017, the steam locomotive "Taiju" began service on the 12.4km stretch between the Nikko and Kinugawa Onsen areas, using old -fashion steam for operation and operating primarily on weekends and holidays. The newly completed Tobu World Square Station is home to the "Tobu World Square" theme park, reproducing world monuments and world heritages at 1/25 scale. Visitors can take pictures as if they had traveled all around the world.

Located just beyond world cultural heritage “Shrines and Temples of Nikko” is Lake Chuzenji, serving as the new home to pleasure boat "Nantai." The boat ferries guests around the lake, allowing them to enjoy a 360° panorama of nature from the roof of the boat.

The time for autumnal leaves is coming soon - The colors are at their best from late September to late November

Famous as one of the leading spots in Japan for enjoying the changing colors of autumn, the Nikko can be enjoyed from late September until late November. The autumn leaves change color along according to their altitude, starting with those at the high mountain areas and ending with the foot of the mountain.

Visitors can enjoy a nice hike through the Odashirogahara Marshlands from late September to early October, the changing of the autumn leaves around Lake Chuzenji during the month of October, and the Nikko Toshogu Shrine world heritage site from early to late November. This is the best time to visit the area, with vibrant colors painting the landscape as far as the eye can see. Visitors who choose to ride the "Nantai" can enjoy the beautiful scenery from a perspective unique to that of a pleasure boat, getting a close-up view of the autumnal leaves on the lake shore.

Arrive in about two hours from Tokyo on the new Limited-Express Revaty Japan's Leading Sightseeing Spots

Beginning operation in April 2017, the new Limited-Express Revaty offers transportation from Asakusa Station to the Nikko / Kinugawa Onsen area in about two hours, allowing visitors to enjoy the trip even if just for a day. Each seat of the train is also outfitted with Wi-Fi and electricity outlets, providing a comfortable and convenient train trip.
