The Norwegian digital media company, ABC Startsiden, has launched their new innovative web-tv player. With uniquely functionalities such as zoom, slow motion and bookmarks, it’s a ground-breaking player, taking usability and user interaction to the next level. It is a true joy to play around and enjoy the various functionalities and the massive amount of content, for instance all the cool and educational “how to” videos. Behind the player, hides the powerful MediaMaker OVP.

The player is based on OSMF/Flash, with HTTP Dynamic streaming and VideoPlaza integration, powering video ads. ABC Startsiden’s new player has some pretty cool special functionalities to offer.

Special functions include:

• Slow-motion: enables the playback of the video to be in slow-motion, thus enabling the viewer to see exactly what goes on in the video, a functionality which fits perfect for “how to” programs, when wanting to see a cool stunt, dance steps and other happenings.
• Zoom: enables the viewer to Zoom in on the video - and when zoomed in, move the picture - and see exactly what goes on in the video. Imagine having the opportunity to zoom in on a fashion show and get to see all the cool details of the dress you have spotted, see the eye color of a handsome face, or just get to zoom in on other details. The zoom functionality also include drag and drop functionality within the video picture.
• Bookmarks: 3 types of bookmarks can be added - in this case each type has a different color and represents "Step", "Tip" and "Fact" - the bookmarks makes it easy for the user to navigate around in the video timeline, a unique way of making your video-player optimized for viewers to interact and stay engaged.
