Yoogaia Workshop Event: Jani Jaatinen on June 21st

The whole world is doing yoga at Midsummer on International Yoga Day.

In June, the International Yoga Day declared by the UN will be celebrated. In Finland, you can take part in the day through the joint workshops of the internationally known yoga instructor Jani Jaatinen and Yoogaia.

The summer solstice, i.e. the 21st of June, will gather yoga practitioners around the world to celebrate International Yoga Day. The day declared by the UN is now being held for the first time.

In Finland, practitioners of yoga will get to enjoy the instruction of the yoga teacher Jani Jaatinen, who is also known around the world. Jaatinen, who set up his own yoga school in Malaysia, does yoga for many hours a day and is a master of as many as 2,000 different asanas. Yoogaia, under the direction of Jaatinen, is organising three workshops which people can participate in, in the familiar way, through the net.

"I recommend workshops for all teachers and yoga practitioners who are looking for a deeper understanding of asanas. Hopefully, they will get tools from me for their own practice," says Jaatinen.

The summer solstice was declared as the International Yoga Day through the initiative of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to him, yoga is not just about exercise but about finding a unity between oneself, the world and nature. The summer solstice is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere and it's also of special significance in the rest of the world.

In the opinion of Jani Jaatinen, it is a great thing that the 5000-year-old yoga is being granted recognition.

"I hope that the International Yoga Day encourages people to try yoga and also to approach its spiritual side," he says.
