Salli cooperates with a Finnish book publisher

Salli Systems is developing the world’s healthiest sitting concept and manufacturing related furniture. The concept is based on two-part Salli Saddle Chairs and wide knowledge of ergonomics. The Finnish publishing house VK-Kustannus has been publishing professional textbooks about sports education, exercise, and rehabilitation since 1978.

The cooperation of these two health-conscious operators has started really well. They aim at further adding the ergonomic knowledge of professionals and students. The common goal is to give high quality information on mobility, human body and ergonomics to everybody who is interested in these things.

Liikkuvuusharjoittelu (Mobility training) is written by Mika Pihlman, Tuulia Luomala and Jarkko Mäkinen and it was published in spring 2018. The book includes an important chapter on joint health by Salli. There will be material by Salli also in the next book that will be published in August 2018. And hopes about a whole textbook on sitting health by Salli have been heard from several professionals.

– It would be great if the number one in sitting health would write a whole book on sitting ergonomics for educational use. It would really fill a need, says Physiotherapist Heli Onikki in the latest K&F (Gym & Physiotherapy) Magazine after hearing about the recent cooperation of VK-Kustannus and Salli.

– It is important to spread the information. Old-fashioned sitting is dangerous to the body and to stand the whole time is no solution either, whereas sitting in a standing-like position on a two-part saddle chair is. There are already many studies on this, says Onikki.

Heli Onikki’s saddle chair has Salli Base, designed by Salli. One can enjoy foot massage by rubbing the soles against the knobs on the base.

Information on sitting health will be available also in the future in the textbooks published regularly by VK-Kustannus. The information is spread also on visits to schools, on lectures and in various happenings. Students and teachers, as well as other health professionals, will have the chance to try different Salli models and find the most suitable model for them with the help of an expert.

– The cooperation between the two experts in their fields has been uncomplicated and rewarding. Promises have been kept on both sides, and doing things together has brought out more ideas for both companies and also fun moments together. By working together we can spread information on health and ergonomics better than ever before, says Salli's Marketing Coordinator Minni Salminen.
