Top management changes at Nordic major Svensk Filmindustri

Nordic major Svensk Filmindustri announces that Jenny Stjernströmer Björk has been appointed Chief Content Officer and Elsa Berg Executive Vice President Business Operations.

Jenny Stjernströmer Björk will in her new position take an overall content responsibility for Svensk Filmindustri.

Elsa Berg will work side by side with Jenny Stjernströmer Björk, focusing on the financing of acquisitions and co-productions as well as business development.

- To have been part of the very exciting transformation we have implemented within the company the last few years has been very rewarding. The opportunity to also take on the CCO responsibility is nothing but a dream come true. We have a great team, we have great partners and we have many exciting challenges ahead. I intend to manage the new responsibility with humility, passion and vigor, says Jenny Stjernströmer Björk.

- I am very excited to take on this new role and to work together with Jenny and our great team towards the ambitious strategy and goals we have as a company, says Elsa Berg.

Svensk Filmindustri’s strategy is to further develop the Nordic co-productions activities, find new exciting rights to exploit, produce more English language films with top Scandinavian talent and maintain the leading position as the Nordic Major.

Recently this was manifested with the announcement of Swedish director Babak Najafi to direct suspension thriller HORIZON LINE. Also, Svensk Filmindustri recently signed an exclusive output agreement with Swedish production company FLX, the company behind THE 100-YEAR-OLD MAN WHO CLIMBED OUT OF THE WINDOW AND DISAPPEARED, one of the most successful Swedish features of all time.

The Bonnier-owned film group Svensk Filmindustri handles the films of 20th Century Fox, Warner in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and MGM in the Nordics, on top of output deals with independent companies such as StudioCanal (France), STX Entertainment (US) and FLX (Sweden).
