Is this it? - Beckmans College of Design at Stockholm Furniture Fair

The thirteen graduate students at the Product Design Programme are showing their product ideas during Stockholm Design Week, February 5-9, 2013. The students exhibit pieces of furniture and objects which contain more than their physical form. Observing the students' work process makes it possible to understand how the senses interact with the material. With a change of perspective it is possible to discover the whole picture.

The communication concept is created by five second-year students at the Visual Communications' Programme. By the help of an illusionist the students presents possible answers to the question Is this it? The illusionist has composed specific tricks to each piece of furniture. The illusions work as metaphors for the questions and ideas behind every design concept, questions and ideas that the viewer is not able to detect at first sight. The result is displayed in the form of graphic design, films, photography and digital communication.

Showcase opening: February 5th at 3 PM. The illusionist Axel Adlercreutz performs.

Programme Directors: Jan Loftén, Product Design and  Annika Berner, Visual Communications.

Course Director, Product Design: Katja Pettersson, Senior Lecturer.

Product Design students: Fredrik Andersson, Kristina Behrens, Erik Berglund, Hanna Dalrot, Andreas Frienholt, Dennis Graben, Amanda Karsberg, Lotta Lampa, Kajsa Lindström, Johan Lindberg, Susanne Ringström, Lisa Berkert Wallard and Niklas Zander
