Dany Torres Signs with Leatt for Apparel, Helmet and Neck Brace

CAPE TOWN, South Africa (February 21, 2017) – The #LeattFamily is proud to announce that Freestyle Motocross rider Dany Torres will be wearing Leatt’s neck brace, helmet, protection, and high performance off-road apparel for 2017. Torres will compete in Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour, Night of the Jumps, X-games, and additional European FMX competitions.

Torres joined the #LeattFamily in 2012 and will rely on Leatt’s neck brace, high performance MX apparel, body protection, and helmet to give him the confidence needed to push his personal limits in his risky sport. Torres kicked off this year by taking the win at the “Night of the Jumps” in Berlin. “I’ve started the 2017 season in very good shape, achieving great competition results . Welcoming Leatt onboard gives me extra motivation to keep working hard!”

Leatt’s GPX 5.5 off-road pants contain a new system called the Internal Knee Brace System (I.K.S). It consists of four layers of reinforcement in the critical high wear, inner knee area. Over 75% of the pants are made of a super lightweight and ventilated diamond stretch material. Complete with a tailored, pre-curved slim fit, a durable nylon seat area and 3D fully floating knee cap reinforcement, it offers comfort as well as protection during off-road riding.

The GPX 5.5 Ultraweld jersey offers an ultra-light layer of protection made of four-way stretch mesh fabric that is MoistureCool wicking. Its tape-bonded seams offer a superior level of comfort with an athletic stretch fit.

The range of GPX Lite gloves offer a ventilated, premium protection system. The upper is made of a light, four-way stretch material that offers a good airflow, and the palm is made of the unique and high-tech NanoGrip material that is reinforced with Aramid. NanoGrip is known for having fibers that are 7.500 times thinner than hair, as well as for its durability, breathability and its excellent wet and dry grip properties.

The GPX 6.5 Carbon and 5.5 Composite helmets feature ground breaking 360° Turbine Technology for concussion and brain rotation safety. 360° Turbines are placed strategically between the EPS and rider’s head. These “bumpers” are made of soft energy absorbing Armourgel that hardens on impact. They improve the multiple-impact protection, but more important: reduce the head impact at concussion level up to 30% and the rotational acceleration to head and brain by up to 40%.
