Digital Days Stockholm kicks off in seven days

Digital Days Stockholm, a nonprofit initiative, is kicking off in a week. For four days, a variety of events on topics related to the Internet will take place throughout Stockholm, Sweden. Digital Days Stockholm is gathering all these events under one umbrella. The events fall under a number of themes (such as marketing & advertising and social media) and range in cost (from free and up).

The kickoff will touch base upon why Stockholm is such a great place for IT businesses to set up shop and what’s new in the digital world, with Anna Gissler (CEO of Stockholm Business Region Development) and Magnus Höij (Editor in Chief of Internetworld) speaking.

Then a panel will discuss about the opportunities and challenges that are involved in setting up a digital business. Panel members will also discuss other topics, such as whether Stockholm can compete with Silicon Valley. The panel includes:

  • Douglas Roos (Founder and Chairman at Nyheter24 plus dragon in the Swedish version of Dragon’s Den)
  • Anders Broberg (Member of the Stockholm IT Region Steering Committee)
  • Matthew Finlay (CEO of Rising Media)
  • Jonas Homberg (Co-Founder and CEO of JayCut, and one of BusinessWeek’s top list of young entrepreneurs in 2007)

Digital Days Stockholm: Take part in the digital events of the year

For four days this September, a variety of events on topics related to the Internet will be taking place throughout the city. Digital Days Stockholm, a nonprofit initiative, has gathered these events under one umbrella.

The events fall under a number of themes (such as marketing & advertising and social media) and range in cost (from free and up). Some are being held in English, some in Swedish, and others will be a mix. In other words, there's something for everyone!


Which events do you want to attend?

Everyone is welcome to browse the www.digitaldays.se website to find the events that interest them. Currently the following events are planned:

  • Kickoff for Digital Days Stockholm: Find out why Digital Days Stockholm came to be, why Stockholm is an excellent place for digital business, and what’s new in the digital world.
  • eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit: Marketing managers, web analysts, and business intelligence experts meet to learn how to increase their return on online investments.
  • Android Only: The Android platform is growing at a furious pace. Google’s free device platform is being chosen and used for far more than just mobile phones. Come and learn more!
  • Search Marketing Expo: This search engine marketing (and search engine optimization) conference is programmed by the sharpest minds in the business, and features both international and Nordic experts.
  • Digital Days at Digital Art Center: Come to mingle and learn more about Digital Art Center. You can also try Mindball, the flight simulator, the combined game/climbing wall DigiWall, and much more!
  • Internet Marketing Seminar (held by International Internet Marketing Association): IIMA presents a seminar about online innovation and marketing.
  • Web Analytics Wednesday: Listen to Webtrekk, a web analytics vendor from Germany, talk about the advantages of raw data. Kristoffer Ewald from Guava, a digital marketing agency, will present a case study.
  • Nordic Telecom Summit: For the seventh consecutive year, IBC Euroforum presents Nordic Telecom Summit—the conference where you find out about the latest trends and learn about the hottest new technologies and devices shaping the telecom industry.
  • Féile Icarus: Join a collaborative event for entrepreneurs, start-ups, SMEs, innovators, where you examine and set your own drivers, unique selling points, and key indicators together. At the end of the day, the idea is for you to have a tailor-made strategy and plan to carry you further in your endeavors.
  • Google Analytics Certified Partner Event: Listen to Google and its certified partners explain how you can use Google Analytics, Website Optimizer, AdWords, and search engine optimization to generate more business online.
  • PR, social media and search = results: At this breakfast seminar, you can listen to two experts share their knowledge about digital PR, social media and search engines.

Digital Days Stockholm: Call for events

For four days this September, a variety of events on topics related to the Internet—everything from conferences to seminars to get-togethers—will be taking place throughout the city. Digital Days Stockholm, a nonprofit initiative, is pooling these events together and welcomes anyone interested in holding an event to register it on the www.digitaldays.se website.

Registration is free of charge, and there are only three requirements:

  • Your event must be related to the Internet somehow.
  • Your event cannot just be a sales pitch for your products or services. However, it is OK to highlight, for example, how you use the Internet to promote your services or products.
  • Your event must take place sometime between September 27 and 30, 2010.

This is an opportunity for companies to market their ideas, for likeminded individuals to share experiences and for event organizers to reach new audiences. The events can be free, or there can be an entry fee: the details are up to the event organizers. The Digital Days Stockholm website brings all the events together, so attendees can easily see the different events going on during this week and so they have a variety of events to choose from.

Digital Days Stockholm: Less than four months away!

For four days this September, the capital of Sweden will be host to a number of events gathered under the Digital Days Stockholm umbrella, as a variety of conferences, seminars and get-togethers are being held on various Internet-related topics. Attendees can share knowledge and strategies, meet up with old colleagues, discover new ones, and explore Stockholm in the autumn.

This is the first year Digital Days Stockholm is being held. The idea behind it is to pool a variety of events together and create a focus on Internet and its related areas, in particular: development & innovations, hardware & infrastructure, marketing & advertising, mobile, social media, and user experience & design.
