Interview with Lars Rhodin, Managing Director, The Swedish Club.
The Swedish Club supports DSM19 as a Gold Sponsor. What contributed you to make this decision?
It’s the most important shipping event in Sweden. The Swedish Maritime cluster is brought together in a joint effort to show its capabilities. The Swedish Club is highly engaged in the cluster and in particular with the shipping companies on Donsö and are a part of their endeavours.
What are your expectations for DSM19?
To meet people, collaborate, listen and take part in discussions on development & technical innovations to the benefit of the end-users and the environment.
What do you find are the opportunities and biggest challenges in the shipping industry today?
To stay relevant to all stakeholders in a logistic ecosystem, to meet the requirements of charterers, cargo interest regulators and society in respect of safety, quality, environment and efficiency. Last, but not least, to attract younger people to see the benefits and challenges of exciting job opportunities in shipping.
How would you describe DSM19 in one word?
And finally, do you prefer a sail or motor boat for recreation and why?
My preference is to sail with my family and friends, exploring new corners of our beautiful coastline, and finding the next harbour.
