The Ski Club Fjallvinden and the Tarnaby Tourist Office have the pleasure of inviting the media to a tour in the search of the secret of success in Tarnaby. Transportation, lodging and meals are all taken care of, and participants will have the opportunity to investigate and discover the true story of the most successful Ski Club in the world ever; the history, the people, the philosophy and the ideas for the future.
Preliminary Programme, Press Tour to Tarnaby, mon 19th feb to wed 21st feb
Monday, 19th February
1 pm Bus transport from Are, Holiday Club. Hosted by former ski club president Bo Bernstrom.
7 pm Estimated time of arrival in Tarnaby, check in at Tarnaby Fjallhotell (single rooms are booked)
The hotel has a restaurant and a bar, open for dinner.
Tuesday, 20th February
7.30 am - Breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant
9 am Presentation of the hosts and the programme for the day in the lounge
10 am Skiing in the slopes of the legends, guided by some of the legends of the village.
Equipment will be available (no charge) in the ski shop, situated in the hotel. Alternative transportation will be available. See and try the slopes where Ingemar, Anja and Jens learnt to master the art of skiing.
12.30 pm Lunch at Tarnaby Fjallhotell together with people who have been important in the history and development of the Ski Club Fjallvinden.
Afternoon free for individual activities, there will be a variety of choices.
6 pm Training for the young skiers of the ski club starts in Ingemarbacken. Photo opportunity and possibilities for interviews.
Restaurant and bar is open for dinner in the evening.

7.30 am - Breakfast is served in the restaurant
Check out and transfer to Hemavan Tarnaby Airport.

• Tarnaby is a small village in Lapland, north-western Sweden. It can be driven through in less than a minute, legally.
• Skiing legend Ingemar Stenmark spent part of his childhood living on a street in Tarnaby called Slalomvagen – Slalom street.
• Tarnaby alone, could be ranked eighth among all countries in terms of skiing victories, ahead of Norway and Canada.
• Statistically, every 4th person that lives in Tarnaby could have a gold medal around his or her neck!
