Nour El Refai and Kristoffer Appelquist on the hunt for the Next Big Humour Star.
Comedians Nour El Refai and Kristoffer Appelquist are now producing a new web series in cooperation with the Swedish Public Dental Health Service in Skåne, Folktandvården Skåne. The mission is to find Sweden’s next big humour star, that can win at the Lund Comedy Festival.
In the web series ”The Next Big Humorstjärna”, Nour and Kristoffer challenge and develop four talents, using their warmth and extensive experience from the standup scene. We get to see how the candidates receive advice and tips as well as take on unexpected challenges. There will be action, there will be emotions, humour and smiles. The quartet will perform at the Grand Comedy Slam, where the audience at the Lund Comedy Festival get the opportunity to give them thumbs up or down.
”We will do everything in our power to get them as sharp as possible in time for the big competition. We need new faces and new stories that can make even more people laugh,” says Kristoffer Appelquist.
”The humour business is still extremely dominated by men, it’s extremely white, and that’s depressing, adds Nour El Refai.
The series has been initiated by Folktandvården Skåne, and is produced in cooperation with the production company Anagram.
”With The Next Big Humorstjärna, we want to find more voices that can spread smiles with more diversity. That way we hope that more people will discover Folktandvården Skåne and everything that we stand for,” explains Marika Qvist, CEO at Folktandvården Skåne.
