the Swedish protective glove supplier, outclassed hundreds of other

This year's Red Dot saw more companies than ever before vying for the
Red Dot is the world's largest design competition. The nomination is also called the designers Nobel Prize. This year over 1 860 companies, designers and architects from 54 countries with a total of 4 662 products. The international jury, this year guested by world-leading designer Jimmy Choo, declared Guide's new series of protective gloves as the best product design in the category "Automotive and Transportation". A major accolade that in previous years has gone to BMX M5 and Volvo FH for Volvo trucks.
At Guide's head office in Ulricehamn there are four individuals involved in product development, of a team consisting of a total of seven people. The ambition is to launch unique product concepts every second year. The development department has over a number of years put a lot of effort into developing a range to give the user optimal freedom of movement and fine motor ability. The pattern is designed in 3D to produce gloves fully modelled on the shape of the hand. The new glove series is on its way out onto the market for retail sale from April.
- We are a small team in Ulricehamn that has been working on product development in order to create a series of gloves which are comfortable to wear, offer a good grip, are durable and that give the user the right level of protection. We have also concentrated on the design of the new series. "We are very honoured that we have been internationally recognised for our work", says Roger Rasmussen, Brand Manager at Guide.
The Red Dot award is presented in Germany on 1st July at Essen's Aalto Opera Theatre. During the summer Guide's range of gloves will be represented in a special exhibition at Red Dot's design museum together with other prize-winning products. The winning exhibits will then be moved to a year-long permanent exhibition. The exhibition is the world's largest display of contemporary design.
During the last year Guide received two international prizes. Guide won the prize of "best new product" at Australia's Security Show, and also received an award for "Most Innovative Product" at the Securex exhibition in Budapest.
