Corporate Citizens? Debating the Role of Business in Society

Tid 27 November 2013 – 28 November 2013

Plats Place: Stockholm School of Economics, the Auditorium

The role of corporations in modern society is in flux and the state is not what it used to be. Businesses are increasingly expected to take on new roles and societal obligations, and the traditional boundary between the public and the private sector is blurring. Drawing on the experiences of practitioners as well as researchers in the field, this SSE Insight seminar sets out to debate the role of business in society. Using a recent volume on corporate citizenship as a starting point1 the panellists discuss questions like; What is corporate citizenship? Can corporations really be citizens? What is it that a corporate citizen does? And is corporate citizenship about rights as well as obligations? After the seminar you are welcome to mingle in the Atrium 16:00–17:00. Refreshment will be served. More information and registration: http://sse2013-corporatecitizens-desk.eventbrite.com
