UN Official Opens Haro's European Conference of the Family 2014

Renata Kaczmarska, Social Affairs Officer at UN Focal Point of the Family, has sent a video message to greet the participants at the European Conference of the Family in Stockholm. Host for the event is the Swedish National Organization Haro.
"Your conference gathers NGO:s, academics and policy makers, all important partners in making sure that families are recognized for all their contributions to society and supported in fulfulling their diverse rolls."

The conference is held in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the UN Year of the Family.

    On October 9-10 the Swedish family organization Haro hosts European Conference of the Family 2014 in Stockholm, Sweden, in observance of the 20th anniversary of the UN Year of the Family. Ingvild Segersam, Chairman, says: "We want to highlight the importance of the family in society, and childrens' need for close relationships."

    Den 9-10 oktober arrangerar Haro en europeisk familjekonferens på Skansen i Stockholm under 20-årsjubileet av FN:s familjeår 2014. Ingvild Segersam, Haros ordförande: "Det blir två högintressanta och matnyttiga dagar. Vi vill bidra till att lyfta fram frågan om familjens betydelse för samhället, och barnens behov av nära relationer. Våra talare har stor erfarenhet och kunskap inom sina områden."

    Nu finns flera av föredragen från European Conference of the Family 2014, som Riksorganisationen Haro anordnade på Skansen i höstas, på YouTube. Konferensen lyfte fram familjens centrala betydelse för barns utveckling och emotionella välbefinnande, och gav många och starka skäl till att på olika sätt stötta och stärka familjen.     Several of the presentations from European Conference of the Family 2014 in Stockholm are now available on YouTube. The conference highlighted the central role of the family for the development and emotional wellbeing of children, and presented many strong reasons for supporting and strengthening families. Speakers: Dr Gordon Neufeld, Mr Jonas Himmelstrand and Professor Mona Sandbaek.
