Pressmeddelande   •   Feb 15, 2016 21:57 CET

Oscar Zia – at age 19 already perceived as a Melodifestival veteran as he for the third time takes the Melodifestival stage on Saturday the 20th of February. This time he does it with ”Human”, a song that was co-written and composed by himself along with Victor Thell and Maria Smith.

Oscar Zia debuted for the television audience at 16, when he competed in The Swedish edition of The X-Factor. He quickly became a viewer favourite and made his way to an 8th place in the tough competition.

After that, things started to move quickly for Ocar, one that drew attention to his X-Factor participation was Behrang who invited Oscar to compete with him in Melodifestivalen 2013 when he competed with the song "Jalla Dansa Sava".Shortly after his involvement he got asked to compete in the Swedish channel TV4's popular program "Let's Dance", where Oscar fought hard and made the final but was beaten with the closest of margins by Markoolio.

Oscar has always dreamed of becoming an artist and parallel to his high school education he spent all his free time in the studio. In the spring of 2014 he got the chance to stand on the Melodifestivalen stage as a solo artist with the song "Yes we can" written by the super trio Fredrik Kempe, David Krüger and Hamid "K-One" Pirouzpanah. Oscar went straight to the final but ended on an 8th place.

Now it's been almost two years, and Oscar has completed his studies and you can listen to him on Swedish Radio P3 where he is a sidekick to Farah Erichsen in "Relationsradion". This summer Oscar hops on the Diggiloo train, which premieres on June 18th in Gothenburg. But first Oscar has to take the stage on Saturday, to compete in Melodifestivalen in Norrköping. He steps out as number 7 with the song “Human” and hopefully he will get further in the though competition.

We wish Oscar good luck!
