Environmentally friendly disinfection from Ystad gets global distribution

Anolytech Ltd in Ystad signs contract with Chick Master, one of the world's largest supplier of equipment for the poultry industry, with operations in over 30 countries. The contract is long term and has an estimated value of SEK 70-100 million over the first three years. It is a major technical breakthrough to create disinfection with just water, ordinary salt and electricity – efficient, environmentally friendly and without the risk of bacteria developing resistance.
- We see this as a powerful confirmation that our technology is mature for a widespread launch in several areas, says Catherine Ehrensvärd, CEO of Anolytech. On Tuesday 17 April, the CEO of Chick Master, Robert Holzer, will come to
Ystad Saltsjöbad for the official contract signing and official launching of the cooperation.

Anolytech has developed a very environmentally friendly and cost-effective technology and equipment for disinfection of water, equipment, furnishings and facilities in areas such as livestock production. The technique is used particularly in hatcheries and poultry farming, where it eliminates the need for strong chemicals, improves animal health and reduces mortality. Furthermore, there is no risk that bacteria become resistant. Blenta AB, one of the largest hatcheries in Sweden, is one out of many companies that uses Anolytech with great success – they have greatly reduced bacterial counts, increased animal health and have a much better working environment.

Simple raw materials
Anolytech's technology uses three simple ingredients; ordinary table salt, water and electricity. Through electrolysis of salt water in a special cell a simple inorganic compound is formed, hypochlorous acid (HClO, hypochlorous acid), which is a highly effective germicide. If it sufficient with very low concentrations, for example, in drinking water one only needs a few ppm. For vigorous measures one can use the concentrate directly from the machine with only 0.05%.

Environmentally friendly and approved
Hypochlorous acid is not completely stable, so the fluid must be used within a few weeks after production in order to be effective. This means that you need an Anolytech Animal 4000 for each activity, for continuous production. The decomposition products are completely harmless and the product is approved by the EU for the disinfection of drinking water, within veterinary medicine and in food handling. It may be used in organic production and there are no limits to sewers.

Chick Master meets Blenta
In a meeting with Blenta AB, Chick Master heard of Anolytech, and how effectively they work in the poultry industry. As a major supplier of hatchery and incubation chambers, ventilation and fogging equipment, Chick Master considers Anolytech to complement them well. After several months of negotiations, it is now decided that Chick Master will sell Anolytech's equipment in 30 of the countries it operates in, in Europe, the US, South America and Asia.

Contracts and training
During the week commencing on the 16 April, Chick Master comes to Ystad, to sign the contract, and sales force and technicians will be trained in Anolytech's machines.
- We are extremely proud and delighted by the confidence that Chick Master shows in us and our technology. Together we can create better conditions for animals as well as the poultry industry and everyone who work in it, says Catherine Ehrensvärd, CEO of Anolytech.

Huge potential
Chick Master has more than 1,000 hatcheries as customers around the world, and they in turn deliver chicks to 25-50 farmers each.
- Each one of these, both hatcheries and breeders needs an Anolytech Animal 4000. And some of them need more than one, says Roger Holzer, CEO of Chick Master.
- We see great growth in this segment alone, says Catherine Ehrensvärd, which means expansion and many new job opportunities here in Ystad.

More than poultry
Anolytech's technology is very broad and works equally well in other livestock operations, such as dairy and pig farming. In addition, it can be advantageously used in other activities where the bacterial load is a problem, where the standards of hygiene are high or very high.
- Our technique is a simple and easily manageable way to improve hygiene at very low cost. In addition, it is environmentally friendly and harmless, says Catherine Ehrensvärd.

Anolytech AB was founded in 2009 in Ystad, with the aim to develop an efficient, cost-effective and easy-care system for disinfection of water, equipment, facilities and furnishings in livestock production and other activities with high hygiene requirements. The company has five employees with direct sales in Sweden and Germany, and a number of agents in the Benelux countries. By the end of 2012, there will be approximately 100 machines in operation in dairy, poultry and pig farms. With the Chick Master deal the company will grow rapidly, with more employees and expanded production facilities in Ystad.

Chick Master has a long history of growth and innovation. Founded in 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio, the company was a leader in development of what were called mammoth incubators because of what was then considered large capacity. Its sales grew all over the world thru the efforts of its international sales distributor, E. Holzer Incorporated, owned by Erich Holzer.
