THE INSTITUTIONAL DYNAMICS OF MARKETS AND INNOVATIONS
With the emergence of firms such as Spotify, Uber and Airbnb, the markets related to music, travel and accommodation have lately been under dramatic changes. In a new doctoral thesis Kaisa Koskela-Huotari has been studying how such market transformations occur through institutional dynamics between markets and innovations. Read more.

SEK 21 MILLION TO STRENGTHEN THE REGIONAL MUSIC LIFE
The research project Music Ecosystems Inner Scandinavia (MECO) aims to strengthen the music industry in inner Scandinavia through increased knowledge and innovation. The project has received SEK 21 million from various actors and will now be carried out by Karlstad University, the Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN University), and Studiefrämjandet. One of the goals is to make music experiences available for everyone. Read more.

HELLO VASSILIS CHARITSIS, NEW PHD IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION…
… you have defended your doctoral thesis: “Self-tracking, datafication and the biopolitical prosumption of life”. What is your thesis about? - The thesis focuses on and examines the popular consumption phenomenon of self-tracking, which allows and enables consumers to track, quantify and datafy diverse facets of their lives. Drawing on data from two empirical studies, which were based on interviews and observational netnography, the thesis engages with the notion of biopolitical marketing to analyse the extraction and appropriation of value from consumers’ lives. Read more.

JOHAN QUIST NEW ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
Johan Quist, researcher at CTF, has been appointed Associate Professor of Business Administration at Karlstad Business School at Karlstad University. His research interests revolve around how the public sector can be better, more relevant and appropriate. Read more.

MEET JOHANNA GUMMERUS, NEW ANDER VISITING PROFESSOR
Johanna Gummerus is an associate professor in marketing at Hanken, School of Economics, and during three years she will be one of our Ander Visiting Professor at CTF. In May she paid her first visit to CTF in her new assignment. Read more.

VISIT BY JOANN PECK, UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MADISON
Joann Peck, Associate professor at University of Wisconsin-Madison, is one of our Ander Visiting Professors, and in May she visited CTF to meet with the researchers and to work on a joint research project on interpersonal touch. Read more.

RESEARCH SEMINAR: "SERVICE-DOMINANT LOGIC – OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE FUTURE"
We would like to invite researchers and doctoral students to the seminar "Service-dominant logic - opportunities for the future"on October 17th, and following doctoral workshop on October 18th organized by CTF. The seminar will approach the new service research landscape and give you new insights into service-dominant logic related research and associated concepts. Program leaders are: Professor Stephen L.
