Nina Stemme – “A Turandot to die for"

“A Turandot to die for” exclaims the reviewer in Sweden’s largest daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter and his colleague at Svenska Dagbladet writes that this is “a high-powered Turandot” in “an outstanding performance”. Swiss Marco Arturo Marelli is director aswell as set and light
designer.

There are also positive reviews for Italian tenor Riccardo Massi who sings Càlaf, the Russian soprano Yana Kleyn (Lìu) and the orchestra conducted by the Danish conductor Thomas Søndergård.

Nina Stemme will sing nine more performances of Turandot, Feb. 19th - March 15th. The title role in the final performances will be sung by Tamara Mancini.

Turandot was first premiered in Sweden at the Royal Swedish Opera in 1927, one year after the world premiere. Birgit Nilsson performed the title role, one of her most famous roles, 16 times in Stockholm.
