The circus is coming to Halloween at Liseberg

At Liseberg a strange circus establishment has moved in. For the odd characters at Cirkus Bisarr, entertainment is more than just fun and laughter. It's bloody serious. Something is waiting for you among tattered circus tents and blinking lights, something creepy that will send chills down your spine. Once you have entered you may not come out again.

This year, there will be more horror than ever during Halloween at Liseberg, which opens on October 12th. This year's great new horror is Cirkus Bisarr, a big horror area filled with performances that will make your stomach turn, as well as the occasional evil clown.

"At Cirkus Bisarr you never know what to expect, but it will be something out of the ordinary," says Sandra Leiknes, horror producer at Liseberg. “Clowns and the balance between laughter and horror are thankful themes that many find very unpleasant.”

Other characters who see the light of day, or rather the dark of night, are the zombies. The construction of the new dive coaster Valkyria failed to eliminate these creatures. The horror house Zombie, in District Z, opens again in the Myths and Legends area next to Balder, Loke and Valkyria.

“The outdoor horror areas differ somewhat from the horror houses; here you are more exposed and the experience comes closer,” Sandra continues. “Around 200 actors are employed to scare the guests in our horror houses and horror areas.”

New for this year is also a horror-themed attraction for the younger and less daring. In the new horror attraction Shocker, you experience everything from skeletons and bloody surgery rooms to prisons and monsters, at a safe distance, sitting in a moving cage.

Although there is a lot of horror in store for those who dare, no one needs to worry about visiting the park. There are also plenty of family-friendly areas full of autumn fun, thrilling rides and, of course, tricks and treats for everyone.

"Visitors choose what areas they want to visit and how scared they want to get" says Lotta Carlsbogård, Head of Creative Development at Liseberg. “But a grand Halloween experience is promised to everyone!”

The Halloween feel begins already at the entrance. The whole park changes into autumn colors and is pampered with scarecrows and pumpkins – 25 000 to be exact.
