1897:Rudolf Dieseldevelopedthe first diesel enginetogetherwithMAN engineers.

1915:MANbuilt thefirsttrucks and busesinLindau incooperation with the firmSaurer. One year later,theproduction moves to MAN’splant in Nuremberg.

1924: Presentation of the firstvehicle engine withdieseldirect injection, developed by MAN. This is the starting point of diesel engines’ success storywithin trucks – until nowadays.

1924:MAN presentedthefirst buson alow-framechassis.

1932:With 140hp,MANS1H6wasthe most powerful dieseltruck in the world in 1932. A year laterMANbroughtthe truckwith150 hp to the market.

1937:Developmentand implementation of asignificantlymore fuel efficientengine.MAN introduced theall-wheel drive for trucks. It later became a key competitiveadvantage for tractors.

1951:TheMAN truckF8withits V8180hp engine was a flagshipof theongoing economicmiracle.

1951:The firstGermantruck enginewithturbochargingachieveda 35 percentperformance improvementover the conventionaltruckengines: the six-cylinderengine MAN1546GT with175instead of 130hp.

1955: The truck, busandtractor production moved from Nurembergto the new plantin Munich.The first truckout of the production line was a MAN 515L1. Theengine production remainedin Nuremberg.

1961:MANlaunched with the750HOthe firstbuswith modularchassisfor city, intercity and coachesbuses to the market.

1971:MANtook over theÖAFandBüssingautomobile plants. Büssing’s Lionwas included inMAN’s logo.

1977: The cooperationwithVolkswagenCommercial Vehicles begun with the development of alight vehiclerange from 6-10tonnes gross weight. In 1979started theproductionof the so-calledVW-MAN jointseries.

1978:MANreceived the "Truck of the Year" award for the first timefor the model19.280.

1986:MANbroughttheF90serieswith a completely newcabto the market.

1992:TheCoachMANLion's Starcame to the market and was honoredas “Coach of the Year”.

1994:The MANF2000wasa successful modelin the 90’s.

2000:The presentation of theTrucknologyGenerationTGAset the startingpoint of amajorproduct offensive.

2001:MANtook over thebrands NEOPLAN, ERFand Star.

2004:Introduction of theD20 CommonRail engineserieswith a completelynewelectronicallycontrolled injectiontechnology.

2005:Adaptation and improvement of theMANTrucknology Generationwiththe launch of theTGLandTGMinthe light and mediumweight class from 7.5 to 26tons.

2007:From TGA to MANTGSand TGXin the Heavy-Truck series. Journalistsawardedthemthe title of "Truck of the Year 2008".

2010:MANHybrid city buswent into series production.

2011:Rebirth of a legend: the double-deckerNEOPLANSkyliner.

2012:A newNEOPLANmodel forintercitytransport: launch of the Jetliner.

2012:Thenew MANTG-series TGL, TGM, TGS andTGX seriesinEuro6celebratedits premiere.

2014:Top of therange: the newD38Euro6 enginesfor the MANTGX series with520-640hp.

2015:Thearticulated natural gasLion'sCity GLCNGis awarded "Bus of the Year".
