Script Writer Talent Competition HypeWriter returns at NATPE

As the winner of last year´s script writer competition Hypewriter goes into production, the preparations for the second annual event intensifies. 

Second Hypewriter Pitching Event coming up
A record number of applicants have submitted their ideas, and the committee is now scaling down to the 8 selected projects that will be judged by a jury at the Pitch Forum Event during NATPE Budapest. This year´s Hypewriter Event will take place on Spoon boat next to the Intercontinental Hotel Tuesday 25. June 2019. 

The jury will be comprised of prominent representatives of culture, film theory, as well as filmmakers.

Bence Trunkó, member of the Board and the Chief Creative Officer at Paprika Studios.

The Butcher in production
The pilot episode of The Butcher, first winning project of the Hypewriter TV Series Pitching Forum is in production.

The Butcher is settled in a village in Hungary, where Karcsi the small-town butcher dies There are many suspects who had the reason to kill him: people who hated him, of which there were a lot, those who may have killed him, also a lot, and those he killed.

The story is written by Declan Hannigan and Andy Heffler who pitched it at Hypewriter Pitching Forum.

Áron Mátyássy joined the crew as director, who is known for his features (Last Times and Weekend) and TV series (Curse and Easy Living), with Dániel Reich in charge of cinematography. Among the cast are Vica Kerekes, Imre Csuja, Eszter Földes, Róbert Alföldi and József Kádas.

Shooting has just been concluded, and the first cut of the pilot will be shown at the next edition of Hypewriter Pitching Forum on 25 June, in Budapest. Leading Hungarian broadcaster RTL Hungary will air the episode later this year.

Another finalist of last year’s Hypewriter, Petr Kolecko’s TV show Hrobari is premiered on JOJ TV, one of Slovakia's most popular channels.

Hypewriter focus on CEE
Hypewriter welcomes applicants from all over the world with a special focus on Central and Eastern Europe. The competition is open to professionals and amateurs alike.

The main prize of the competition is worth fighting for: 10 000 Euro cash award for writing and 110 000 Euro in kind support for production. 

The pilot episode is developed further and produced by Paprika Studios, a production company dedicated to producing innovative, quality content for television
