When Viktor Stålberg first attended Bluechip's hockey showcase back in 2006 who could have guessed we were watching a future NHL superstar and Stanley Cup Champion!
Prior to his already exceptional professional career capped off most recently as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Championship team, Viktor spent three tremendous years at the University of Vermont as a student-athlete where in his Freshman and Sophomore years he established himself as one of the team's best, featuring in 78 games scoring 17 goals and adding 21 assists. His Junior season proved to be his breakout year in which he scored a league leading 24 goals and added 22 assists while being nominated for the Hobey Baker Award, the annual prize given to college hockey’s best player.
Bluechip could not be more honored to have played a role in Viktor's story by providing him the chance to take his game to the United States and helping him find a collegiate home in the University of Vermont where he was able to hone his skills and develop his game in preparation for the National Hockey League. We wish Viktor continued success in his professional career as he moves to Nashville and we hope that 2013 is not the only year the Stanley Cup appears in Göteborg under his watch.
Congratulations to Viktor and the Stålberg family from the Bluechip Staff!
