On behalf of the Shattuck St. Mary’s School and Hockey Program, Bluechip Study USA would like to thank Växjö Lakers HC, Borås HC, Molndal HC, and Hanhals IF for their competition, sportsmanship and hospitality this past week in Sweden.

Shattuck St. Mary’s, widely known as the #1 youth hockey development program in North America, producing players like Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews and Zach Parise, won 3 of 4 games while in Sweden with their only set back coming in a hard fought 3-1 loss against Växjö Lakers J20 Super Elit.

This year’s Shattuck team featured many players born 97 and 98 and Head Coach Tom Ward and Assistant Des Christopher were very pleased with the trip stating, “We are always looking to find great hockey experiences for our kids, coming to Sweden gave our kids a chance to play in and experience the game in a little different way than they experience it in North America. Seeing the game from a different point view both on and off the ice, will benefit the kids and our hockey program this season.”

Many of the boys said the highlight of the trip came from touring Växjö’s incredible facilities, playing on Arena Staden ice, and meeting 1st team captain and Harvard Graduate, Noah Welch. Swedish breakfasts were also a major highlight for the group of ever hungry players as well as watching Frölunda and AIK play in Göteborg!

Bluechip Study USA would especially like to thank all of the individuals who helped made this trip possible for Shattuck St. Marys and we hope to have Shattuck back to Sweden in future years!

Tack Så Mycket,

Joakim, Pernilla, Emil och Ben
