Srijem Vineyards Winery which houses wines of 20 winemakers is situated in the basement of the manor, located in the historic center of Ilok. The ground floor houses the offices of the Tourist Board of Ilok with a tourist information desk - containing information about the city and the surrounding area, a gift shop and an exhibition space.
Ilok is the easternmost Croatian village that rises over the River Danube, surrounded by the slopes of Mount Fruška and beautiful vineyards. The town has a long history, and is the heir of interesting cultural contrasts woven into its medieval center and one of the most important urban-fortified complexes of northern Croatia and the Danube region. However, Ilok is primarily known as the Danube kingdom of wine.
Vineyards have been planted on the gentle hills of Mount Fruška since Illyrian and Roman times. Ilok’s Traminac is known throughout the world and was served at the English court and the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Here we also have Graševina, Grey and White Pinot, Riesling, Chardonnay and Sylvaner from the white varieties, as well as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Franconia from the red varieties. An interesting fact is that Ilok is full of wine cellars located in the city: in almost every street there is at least one winery-cellar.
