In December 2016, Mikko Salla decided to leave his position as Managing Director of Newsec Asset Management Oy and take on a new role as Managing Director of HUS Kiinteistöt Oy. As a consequence of this, and the recent acquisition of Basale in Norway, a decision was reached to further strengthen the Nordic ties and aim for more cross-market exchange. In addition to replacing Mikko Salla with Miro Karttunen, Tomi Ventovuori was promoted to join the Nordic Management team as responsible for digitalization.
“It feels like Newsec Asset Management is by these changes taking great steps forward in being able to meet market demands. We know that competition is getting tougher and that we need to be able to sell cross-market and with smart solutions. With the addition of Basale in Norway, we got a high-skilled team and many new clients. Putting special focus on digitalization as well as installing a new MD in Finland will surely bring new energy into the organization”, says Björn Lindeborg, CEO Newsec Nordic Asset Management.
Mikko Salla joined Newsec in 2007 and has been the Managing Director August 2009. During his time at Newsec, the company has grown with 140 co-workers and 10 M€ EUR under management. Mikko’s leadership has been much appreciated both internally and externally.
“We are very happy with the work Mikko has done both as a leader and client contact. He is a competent and pleasant person to work with and even though we are sad to see him go, we wish him all the best of luck in the future”, says Björn Lindeborg, CEO Newsec Nordic Asset Management.
Miro Karttunen and Tomi Ventovuori will take on their new positions on March 1, 2017.
