The success for the thriller series Midnight Sun from Nice Drama continues. December 2016 the series won no less than 3 awards at the Roma Fiction Fest.

The awards was for Best New TV Series, Best Script and Best Directing. The Directors Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein accepted the awards in Rome. In their speech, the two directors talked about the fantastic times for TV drama we have at the moment.

“We believe that this time will be remembered as a great era for TV drama with great opportunities. In this series the actors talk five different languages, and even though it is a thriller, the main topic is racism. We couldn´t have done this series five years ago!” they said.

“We are very grateful and honored to receive the awards”.

The jury at Roma Fiction Fest was lead by the American actor Richard Dreyfuss.

The 8×60’ Nordic thriller is coproduced by French pay TV company Canal+, Swedish pubcaster SVT and Filmpool Nord, and produced by France’s Atlantique Productions and Nice Drama.

The show was created by Måns Mårlind & Björn Stein (Bron/Broen), based on an idea by Henrik Jansson-Schweizer and Patrick Nebout.
