Open welcomes Senior Account Director Daniel Askergren to its growing international team.

Daniel Askergren, new Senior Account Director at Open Communications in Stockholm

We’re thrilled to announce that Daniel Askergren has joined our growing pool of international talent at Open Communications as Senior Account Director. Daniel is a true internationalist with an extensive background in the agency world, having worked previously as Account Director at Ottoboni, one of Sweden’s largest digital agencies, and at DDB as Nordic Client Service Director.

At a time when traditional full-service agencies and digital agencies are struggling to reinvent themselves and a new crop of so-called “content agencies” or “activation agencies” have become all the rage, Daniel brings a healthy dose of common sense to the whole scene.

Big picture thinker, hands-on approach
Having previously helped to develop DDB Nordic’s 360-degree offering and worked extensively in both the online and offline communication, he combines a “big picture” approach with hands-on experience of results-driven marketing communication.

“I really love to work with complex international projects, involving stakeholders within business, sales, product and communication. This is one of the reasons I was attracted to Open,” says Daniel.

Consistent brand story and strategy 
“I´m really looking forward to working with some of Sweden’s more renowned industry brands and help them strengthen their communication through the customer journey. In a data-driven landscape, there are so many exciting opportunities to create stronger customer experiences. Still, you need to have a consistent brand story and strategy. Open has just the right approach, experience and also shares my true curiosity.”

Customer insights that drive sales
“Daniel definitely has a ‘planners gene’ in him, meaning that he’s able to identify customer insights that our creative team can work with,” says Håkan “Hank” Fagerstedt, Creative Director at Open. “Nobody actually want advertising concepts these days – they want communication that can drive their business forward.”

A round of golf anyone? 
Apart from being a smart strategist and proven leader, Daniel is an avid golfer and family guy. When not working, you’ll find him spending time with his family in Täby or the summerhouse in Southern Sweden.
