700 Years of Charles IV – Ice Palace in Špindlerův Mlýn
How about spicing up your winter holiday with something unusual? Go and visit the ice kingdom of Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor.
The celebrations of 700 years from the birth of the most popular Czech King and Holy Roman Emperor, Charles IV will be enjoyed far and wide across the Czech Republic, including the popular ski resort in Špindlerův Mlýn. An igloo specially built for this occasion will not offer you a course of medieval skiing, but a display of ice statues of Charles IV’s wives, along with the impressive Karlštejn Castle and many others. It is located not far from the upper station of the Svatý Petr-Pláň chair lift in one of the most renowned ski centres in the Krkonoše Mountains. Open in season every day from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Ice Palace also puts on a cultural programme, including concerts.

Winter Run Prague
How about taking a run in the snow? Join one of the winter running events.
Most people only associate running with spring, summer and autumn. Running in the winter may sound somewhat unusual, but this has been changing recently, as hundreds of racers (wearing warm clothing) take part in winter runs. Would you like to join them?
A run in the most glorious scenery. Prague is beautiful in any season, but looks particularly magical when covered with snow.

International Conference with topic: “Housing in Liveable Cities”
The “European Habitat” is an international regional conference organised within the framework of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). It is one of five regional commissions of the United Nations, bringing together 56 member countries from Europe, the Balkans, North America and a part of Asia.
The topic of the European Habitat Conference is “Housing in Liveable Cities”, which the UNO approved and highly appreciates. It deems the focus of the event is well chosen and expects great interest on the part of participants from the whole world.
The official outcome of the European Habitat Conference is the document called “The Prague Declaration”, the final draft of which will be adopted in December 2015 by the Plenary of the Committee on Housing and Land Management, UNECE’s executive body in the area of housing and urban development. In October 2014, the Committee discussed and adopted the Geneva UN Charter on Sustainable Housing, which was then approved by UNECE’s Plenary in April 2015 as the official contribution of the relevant region to the Habitat III conference.

Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week
Prague comes alive with fashion and designs.
It is customary throughout the world that Spring ushers in the latest fashion trends and in the Czech Republic it is no different. Having joined metropolises such as New York, Sydney, Moscow and Berlin, Prague has been celebrating a fashion week under the patronage of Mercedes-Benz since 2010. Every year during this period the capital city of the Czech Republic welcomes significant Czech and foreign guests who have come to cast a probing eye over the creations of carefully selected designers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. To even greater enhance the shows Prague has offered an attractive environment of historical buildings – for example the Museum of Glass not far from the Municipal House – with the organisers adding side events to be held throughout the whole of the city. Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week is the largest fashion event in the Czech Republic.
