Dubrovnik and Zagreb progressed this year in the rankings of world and European congress cities. One of the most prominent organizations of international conferences in the world, ICCA International Congress and Convention Association, recently announced the scale on which the city of Dubrovnik jumped by 52 places from 139th to 87th , which it shares with Zagreb, Gent, Brisbane and Las Vegas
Zagreb jumped two places forward on the list of 345 cities in the past year. The Croatian capital moved forward in 2009/2010, when it came in at 89th place, jumping nearly a hundred places.
On the European list of 178 cities, Dubrovnik climbed 26 places, therefore, coming in 48th together with Zagreb and Gent, while Croatia is in 39th place among the European countries.
Regular annual reports of the ICCA are created by achieved results - the number of congresses held by countries and cities on continents worldwide. Only the International congresses associations that are held periodically are ranked, while the "ad hoc" conferences are not counted.
