Ericsson today announced that it has deployed a multi-access network
based on its CDMA2000 network and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)

Ericsson's global 3G Connectivity Packet Platform (CPP), this
seamless multi-access solution will allow China Unicom to efficiently
and cost-effectively deliver advanced mobile Internet services to
their customers.

"We are very pleased to further our successful relationship with
China Unicom through supplying this CDMA2000 multi-access solution,"
said Åke Persson, president of Ericsson Mobile Systems CDMA. "This
solution is yet another example of Ericsson's technology leadership

high-speed data in local area coverage and will support services in
"hot spots," such as airports and conference centres. This solution
enables the end-user to have an "always best connected" experience
that offers seamless mobility with secure connections and the highest
data rates possible, all from a single subscription.

"This seamless CDMA2000 multi-access solution will help China Unicom
to ensure cost-effective delivery of data services to it customers,
which will in turn help to increase the uptake of new services and
generate new revenue streams for our customer," said Jan Malm,
president, Ericsson China.

Unicom in the Jiangsu, Anhui, Sichuan, Yunnan, Henan, Heilongjiang
