Spacious lounge spiced with Finnish design
Finnair opened its renewed Silver Wings Lounge
The Finnair Silver Wings Lounge, located in the Schengen area of Helsinki Airport, opened its doors after the summer's re-decoration work. The lounge, completely made over, is now more spacious than before, and the interior design emphasises the core values of the Finnair brand - freshness, creativity, security and Finnishness.
The space designed by KOKO3 is combines Finnish forms and surfaces: the décor has been planned in cooperation with design house Iittala and Tulikivi, among others. Another aim has been to enhance customer friendliness.
- A part from its new look, the service points of the Silver Wings Lounge have been spread out and the division of space is now clear and logic: while waiting for a flight, passengers can enjoy an espresso in the café area, relax in the arm chairs or by the bar tables follow aircraft taking off to Europe, says Finnair Plus Concept and Service Manager Leena Muesa.
Silver Wings, located above the departure gates 26 and 26a, is Finnair's biggest lounge in the Schengen area, and features now, with 86 customer seats, approximately ten customer places more than before. On a monthly basis the lounge caters for roughly 6.500 passengers.
- Many stop by the lounge even several times per week, which means that we emphasize diversity on our menu. Customers have been asking for simple cooking, so to celebrate the re-opening they will get to try porridge in the mornings and classic Finnish soups in the afternoons, Muesa adds.
Silver Wings Lounge serves Finnair Plus Platinum, Gold and Silver customers as well as oneworld's Emerald and Saphire customers.
