Micropos exhibited the RayPilot® system at ESTRO 31, Europe's largest convention in radiotherapy. During the exhibition days Micropos showcased the RayPilot® system for improved accuracy in radiotherapy of prostate cancer for visitors from around the world.
In conjunction with the congress, Micropos also held the company’s first users and distributors meeting where the latest development of the RayPilot® system was presented and discussed.
The ESTRO congress is also the biggest European congress in radiotherapy where new scientific work is presented after undergoing a scientific committee review.
All five scientific abstracts regarding the RayPilot® system that was submitted for review were accepted for publication.
- We now have a total of 26 publications around the RayPilot® system, where the most recent publications are now specifically reflect the clinical use and future potential more and more. This means that we are now beginning to establish a scientific basis for our product which is essential to get more and more clinicians to become interested in and start using RayPilot® says Hanna Syrén on Micropos responsible for the clinical use of RayPilot®.

The company has developed the RayPilot® system for increased precision in radiotherapy of prostate cancer. The RayPilot® system is an electromagnetic positioning system that initially enables real time position of the prostate for a fast and objective set-up and for continuous positioning during the treatment. A precise and safe localization of the tumor can dramatically improve the outcome of the treatment, particularly for hypofractionated protocols. The RayPilot® system consists mainly of three parts; a transmitter that is placed in the ROI, a receiving system that is placed directly on any existing treatment coach and software that continuously shows where the tumor is and where to beam. The transmitter is removed after the final treatment in order to enable MRI follow-up.
