Last night, A.G. Lafley, former Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of P&G, was inducted into the American Advertising Federation’s Advertising Hall of Fame. A.G. joins seven others, including P&G Board Member Johnathan Rodgers, in receiving this prestigious award which celebrates extraordinary men and women who have made significant contributions to advertising and society, helping to raise the standards and level of professionalism in the industry, and inspiring and mentoring future generations.
A.G.’s induction into the Advertising Hall of Fame is a testament to the imprint he left on the industry. His clear and simple guiding beliefs included The Consumer is Boss, Innovation is our Lifeblood and The Power of Strategy and Leadership. Under A.G.’s leadership, P&G transformed into the company it is today. P&G’s billion dollar brand portfolio grew from 10 to 23 and the Company proved to be a world-improving force by extending its philanthropic efforts around the world.
A.G. is the ninth P&Ger to join the Advertising Hall of Fame, reinforcing our Company’s impact on the advertising industry and our consumers’ lives. Past P&G honorees include Harley T. Procter, Neil Hosler McElroy, Howard J. Morgens, Robert V. Goldstein, Edwin L. Artzt, John Smale, John E. Pepper and Bob Wehling. P&G was also the first company inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame in 2010 for our historical and continued leadership in marketing.
