The Swedish esports company G:loot, most known for GLL, Global Loot League, one of the major leagues in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, have raised new capital and aim to expand with new popular titles to reach more players in the esports world.

G:loot is a unique platform for esports where players from around the world can go against each other for a small amount of money. The players may choose from three different platforms to face off on – mobile, tablet or PC.

Among G:loot's tournaments you find GLL (Global Loot League), which is one of the top global leagues in the successful game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, the best-selling PC game in 2017, and a tournament platform for Mad Skills Motorcross 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

– We are very pleased that G:loot have now obtained heavy investors and capital in the Nordic region's largest investment in esports so far. There was a tremendous interest from investors. In fact, we couldn’t offer everyone interested to participate, says Patrik Nybladh, CEO and Founder.

– This is just a beginning of a very promising future. The financial backing gives us the opportunity to realize our vision: "Anyone, anywhere in the world, shall have the possibility to win money in games they already play and love.

– The ambition is to become a natural part of the esports and gaming community. We want to expand the platform to more tournaments, more games and most importantly, to more players around the world. A large part of the investment will go to marketing, but also to the recruitment of more skilled employees to the company, says Simon Sundén, Vice President and Head of Esports.

The new investors have placed a total of 10 million euros in G:loot.

– G:loot is an exciting company with an extremely scalable product. We believe that G:loot has great potential to develop into one of the largest players in the in the esports scene. Our belief is that esports will grow and become one of the largest interactive entertainment formats in the future. We already see very high fan engagement while the industry is still in its infancy, says Carl Armfeldt, portfolio manager at Swedbank Robur, one of the new well known investors.

In a previous round of financing, major Swedish sports profiles contributed to the growth of the company, including the Captain of the Swedish national soccer team Andreas Granqvist, the former soccer star Martin Dahlin and the former tennis champion Robin Söderling.

ABG Sundal Collier and Pareto Securities acted as lead managers for the round of investments.
