Granada one of the key destinations in Spanair's expansion plan

Pressmeddelande   •   Nov 30, 2006 17:08 CET

With the recent launching of new routes between Granada and the cities of Madrid
and Barcelona, the Company strengthens its position in Andalusia.

Granada, 30th of November 2006. The expansion plan that Spanair is presently
engaged in and that will be completed in the year 2010, positions the Company as
the best alternative orientated towards the business segment while at the same
time satisfies the needs of passengers travelling for pleasure.

Spanair defines Granada as a very important part of its expansion plan,
offering, thanks to its dual model, a product whose timetable has been
especially adapted to the business passenger's needs with 6 daily frequencies
between Granada and Madrid, as well as 4 daily frequencies between Granada and
Barcelona. Through the opening of routes to Palma de Mallorca and South
Tenerife, presently under study, that will offer two weekly frequencies
respectively, Spanair offers an equally competitive product within the leisure
sector.

In this manner the Company consolidates its position in Andalusia, presently
relying on an extensive network of flights that makes it possible to connect the
principal andalusian cities with several destinations. These services will be
further enhanced with the opening of new routes that will connect Bilbao with
Jerez and Malaga in 2007.

This extensive route network offers the possibility of connecting with a wide
range of intercontinental destinations through the hubs offered by the Star
Alliance network; such as Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Zurich and Munich. At the same
time the Alliance continues to strengthen its presence in Spain by currently
operating with 11 Airlines, more than 2.800 weekly flights compared to the 2.500
from last year, and also offers many advantages to its travellers; a superior
quality service, the option of collecting and redeeming points via the Spanair
Plus Loyalty Programme and also with any of the other member airlines,
through-check in to the final destination, access to the VIP lounges etc.

"We are very satisfied with the start up of our operations in Granada and we
have our eye set on this airport as a fundamental element within our expansion
plan, thanks to the high rate of business traffic that exists between the cities
of Madrid and Barcelona with Granada", states Lars Nygaard, CEO of Spanair, he
adds "At the same time, Granada offers a great possibility to those passengers
who are travelling for pleasure, as the city has potential for both incoming and
outgoing tourism".

Passengers travelling on these flights will benefit from the advantages offered
by our Punctuality guarantee commitment, which also applies to the full range of
our scheduled domestic flight network.

Spanair was founded in 1986 and offers more than 600 daily flights, operated
with a fleet of 64 aircraft and in code share with its partners, to 150
destinations. Since April 2003, Spanair is a member of Star Alliance, the
largest and most prestigious airline network in the world.
