KitchenTime Group sets up logistics in-house and invests in AutoStore

After another year of strong growth, KitchenTime Group is now investing SEK 30 million in an automated warehouse to make it possible to continue scaling up the business in the coming years. The new technology contributes to both scalability and more efficient processes. In addition to optimized storage utilization, the new warehouse system provides the ability to manage seasonal changes and seasonal peaks. Element Logic will deliver both the AutoStore-facility and Warehouse Management System for the entire warehouse.

"We look forward to developing the warehouse processes together with KitchenTime with our Elements Warehouse Management System and AutoStore. This project is extra exciting strategically since KitchenTime are taking back their logistics operations in-house and we therefore get to participate in shaping processes and the warehouse from scratch." –Håvard Hallås, Sales Director Element Logic Sweden AB

KitchenTime signs a rental agreement with Sportamore for a warehouse of 5000 sqm in Eskilstuna logistics park with an estimated launch during summer 2017. KitchenTime had a third party logistics set-up in its early growth stages, but is now building up logistics in-house for greater long-term capacity.

Erik Andrén, who comes from the online food shop Mathem, now joins KitchenTime Group as logistic manager. Additional warehouse employees will be recruited to the new warehouse, and over time around 20 new jobs will be created.

In 2016, KitchenTime had a strong growth accelerated by the acquisition of Confident Living, one of the leading e-commerce companies in home decoration and furniture. With the ambition to build the Nordic online leader within products for the home, the automated warehouse solution is central to enabling growth both organically and through acquisitions.

"This investment will more than triple our capacity while increasing efficiency which creates good conditions for both further strong growth and improved profitability." –Anton Malmberg, Deputy CEO, Co-founder KitchenTime
